The EMU women stretched their winning streak to six games Wednesday, sweeping a pair of non-conference games from Mary Baldwin in Harrisonburg. The Lady Royals are now 9-5 overall with four of the games from the winning streak being mercy-shortened contests.

For the all the hype for Thursday’s doubleheader with rival Bridgewater College at JMU’s Veterans Memorial Park, the Lady Royals came out a little flat. EMU dropped the opener, but came from behind in the nightcap, taking a 3-2 win with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

The softball women picked up right where they left of today on day two of the Roanoke Valley Softball Bash, as they rolled to another pair of victories. The Lady Royals ran their shutout streak to 21 innings before giving up a run in a 2-1 win over Ferrum, improving to 9-1 on the season.
