Edith V. Wenger, 88, died Aug. 19, 2007, at Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.
Ms. Wenger served 34 years in housekeeping services in the physical plant department at Eastern Mennonite University. She retired in 1981.

EMU has been using green-certified cleansers in housekeeping services since 2005. Green-certified cleansers are biodegradable and less toxic than many traditional cleansers.
A year ago, EMU custodial services began testing new hydrogen peroxide-based cleansers, which break down into oxygen and water, but are aggressive enough to deal with problem areas of soap scum and mineral build-up. ...More
