Roach named to D3Hoops Team of the Week

Last week Eastern Mennonite University guard Chloe Roach (Leesburg, Va./Tuscarora) had her best collegiate two-game stretch, and she was rewarded by being named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware. Only five players in the entire nation are given the weekly honor.

Roach led the Eastern Mennonite basketball women to a pair of big wins last week, including notching a double double in Saturday’s 66-59 win over the ODAC’s second-place team, Guilford College. The freshman racked up 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists against the Quakers, and scored eight of EMU’s points during a decisive 13-0 run which gave the Royals the lead for good.  The Royals closed the game on an 18-2 run.

Roach also scored a career high 26 in Wednesday’s 74-45 win at Shenandoah.

For the week she averaged 22.5 points on 54.8% shooting, adding 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

She joined senior Jessica Lam, Bridgewater College; junior Kara Hageman, of Case Western Reserve; senior Sara Tarbert, of Stevenson; and senior Morgan McCollian, of DeSales.

Roach is currently ninth in the ODAC in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game, and eighth with 44 steals.
