Concert Celebrates/Memorializes Children

"Every 3 Children," a special memorial concert remembering African children with AIDS and the five Amish girls of Nickel Mines, will be presented twice in the Harrisonburg area:

– 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Martin Chapel of the seminary building at EMU; and

– 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Community Mennonite Church, S. High and Water Sts.

Composer/pianist Carol Ann Weaver of Waterloo, Ont., will perform with singer/songwriter Rebecca Campbell of Toronto, Ont., in a concert that celebrates life and responds to global situations of conflict, pain and loss.

Sales of Weaver’s CD, "Every 3 Children," will support Mennonite Central Committee’s African relief work and the families of the Nickel Mines children.

Admission is free; contributions are welcomed.
