		<description>I met him first when I was 18 and looking at EMU. I had come from a conservative political background and had some pretty set ideas of how life and society worked. As I rose to leave our interview, Al said to me, &quot;You know I think you could learn a lot from me, and I think I could learn a couple things from you, too.&quot; By the time I crossed that threshold I knew I had to come to Eastern Mennonite College and I had to learn from Al Keim. I have run into many Ph.D.&#039;s since and I have yet to hear that same sentiment. Mentor, Guide, Friend. Al Keim remains a giant in my life.</description>
