EMU Concert to Benefit School in South Africa

Two local bands, "Katie and Jessica" and "Oscar's Mad," will play a benefit concert 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 in Lehman Auditorium.

Both bands are playing without charge to allow all gate receipts to go directly to a school in Lesotho, Southern Africa. An EMU cross-cultural group is spending the fall semester studying in South Africa.

The school that will receive the funds is comprised mainly of four concrete walls. When it rains, school is cancelled because of flooding. The goal is to provide the students with a safe place to learn all year 'round.

The concert is sponsored by the EMU chapter of SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise).

Tickets are $3, and will go on sale starting at 6:30 p.m.
