Every person and every organization needs an edge or frontier with the world where a real conversation is possible. This creative conversational edge is difficult to sustain, but an absolute necessity, both for good customer service and for sustaining a vital personal life amidst the continual demands of providing that service. In this talk, world-renown poet David Whyte will explore the essence of conversational leadership, and why it is not an invitation to endless talking but rather a means of identifying the crucial exchanges that move individuals, customer relationships and organizations from immovability and re-activeness to pro-activity and anticipation. With a unique blend of humor, insight and poetry, he illustrates the foundational qualities that allow leadership to be both real and effective.
