Carnival de Resistance: OUT OF THE WHIRLWIND

Where Campus Center, Thomas Plaza

Duration 1 hour 30 minutes

This production is a variety show that follows a liturgical flow, includes lament, praise, passing of the peace, songs that are taught to the audience, embodied ritual and a core teaching. The “teaching piece” is a new performance by Tevyn East and Jay Beck – stories told, sung and danced from the perspectives of Raven and Dove—the two birds that Noah released the last time the world was destroyed. Feel the rush of the Holy breath as the creatures of the Air remember, lament and ride the winds of change towards a new hope that is imagined by the prophets.
