Pikes Peak Restorative Justice Symposium in Colorado Springs, CO

Restorative Justice on a Continuum…from the Basics to High Risk
May 9 & 10, 2013

Location: Beth-El Mennonite Church,
4625 Ranch Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918

Join us for deeply moving stories of high-risk restorative justice practices. Howard Zehr returns as the keynote speaker focusing on shame (Thursday) and high-risk victim offender conferencing (Friday).

This year we collaborated with the Colorado Department of Corrections to provide victims of crime the unprecedented opportunity to meet face to face through restorative justice dialog with those that harmed them.

Sharletta Evans, whose 3 year old was killed in a drive by shooting, will be joining Howard on Friday morning to discuss restorative justice and high risk victim/offender conferencing. Sharletta is the first victim to meet with her son’s killer in the Colorado Dept. of Corrections.

The Symposium will also feature break-out sessions for beginners as well as experienced volunteers, facilitators and community members. Elaine Zook Barge, STAR director, will be presenting on May 9, 2013.
