Dr. Sheida Shakouri Rad, visiting Muslim scholar from Iran, will introduce herself and give an introduction to her research on “Women, Politics and Islam in Iran.” It examines the way in which political change has affected the way in which Islam has been interpreted regarding the status and role of women in Iran over the past century. Dr Shakouri Rad is the wife of our first visiting Muslim scholar, Dr. Amir Akrami, and is available to be a guest lecturer.

There will be time for questions and discussion.
