What is international & community development?

Community and International Development provides a framework to analyze economic, social, environmental, and political relationships that create poverty, injustice, and exploitation and offers skills and understandings necessary to intervene appropriately to transform these relationships and allow the marginalized, impoverished and oppressed to live with dignity.

At the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP), Professors John Paul Lederach (CJP co-founder), Lisa Schirch (Director of 3DSecurity),Vernon Jantzi (CJP co-founder), and other leaders in the field have created models to teach and integrate core essentials of community and international development, security, conflict analysis and transformation, economic justice issues, and peacebuilding.

What is the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding?

The Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP) was one of the first programs at a North American university to offer an M.A. in the conflict and peacebuilding field and is regarded as one of the best peacebuilding programs in the world. CJP offers graduate studies as well as many professional development opportunities.
