Kenton Derstine MDiv

Kenton T. Derstine, M. Div. is Dir. of the EMS Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and Mentored Ministry Programs. Kenton holds certification by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. as a CPE Supervisor. Prior to coming to EMS Kenton served as chaplain and CPE Program Manager at St. Vincent Hospitals in Indianapolis, Indiana. While Director of the EMS program students have served as chaplain interns in six different retirement communities and four different hospital systems in addition to numerous congregational placements. Kenton earned a B.A. in History from EMC and an M. Div. from the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Kenton studied briefly under Dr. Edwin Friedman and subsequently completed two years of the Post-Graduate program in Bowen Family Systems Theory and its Applications at the Georgetown Family Center.
