Everyone is invited to hear special guest EMU alumnus David Augsburger (C '60), noted author and speaker, reflecting on the YPCA story at EMU. Worship will be lead by current Y-church team members. Coffee and conversation will follow in Common Grounds Coffeehouse.

The program will start at 8:45 a.m. Philip E. Zapanta, M.D. (C 96) will speak on "Hymn Hoarseness - the Role of the Otolaryngologist." In the first half of this seminar the audience will be given a quick tour of the anatomy and physiology of the voice. The second half will consist of a discussion of the presentation and management (surgical and non-surgical) of specific laryngeal diseases. John L. Ruth, noted author will be keynote speaker on "Stories of Calling Mennonite Leaders". Advance reservations required -there will be a limited number of tickets available at the registration desk.

A Life of Significance" by David Batstone. David is senior editor of "Worthwhile" magazine and the executive editor of "Sojourners" magazine. He is a professor of social ethics at the University of San Francisco. Gifted as an entrepreneur, Batstone has played an executive role in a niche investment bank operating internationally in the entertainment and technology industries. During the 1980s he founded and directed a non-governmental agency dedicated to economic development and human rights in Latin America. "Where Best to Find Servanthood?" Norma Martin and Linda Johnson Campbell will speak about their experiences in providing nursing care since graduation from EMC. Norma (class of 1961) has worked in home health in remote western North Carolina. Linda (class of 1976) works in community/ worksite health in Augusta County, Va. Advance reservations required. Proceeds for the breakfast will benefit the Flynn Endowment, which provides funds for unique learning opportunities for students. Pre-school (ages 0-5) child care available during class reunions. Please pre-register. Meet in the basement of Lehman Auditorium. Grades 1-5 Meet in the campus Center Greeting Hall for fun-filled youth activities organized and led by the EMU Student Education Association. These action-packed activities go far beyond child care. A special feature this year is a workshop led by Steve Parks in which the children will make and learn to play simple instruments. Registration includes free lunch and supplies.

Reunions will be held for the classes of 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996 and 2001 at various locations on campus. Check at the Welcome Center in the University Commons for reunion locations. There is no charge to attend your reunion, but please register. If you wish to join your classmates for lunch following the reunion, please pre-register -there will be a limited number of tickets available at the registration desk.

This event is for alumni who attended EMU 50 years ago or more. The class of 1956 will be honored and will become members of Jubilee Alumni. This is the third of several special functions featuring the vision and foci of EMU's new pre-law minor within the history department. Two guest speakers will address vocational, ethical, and theological themes within a law-related course of study and career. Res Judicata is the new student-led law society on campus. These distinguished speakers, Res Judicata leaders and talented musicians will augment a catered meal and stimulating conversation as we invite alumni to support this new venture in EMU undergraduate education. To celebrate 85 years of ministry, service and outreach of active student involvement by alumni and current students in the YPCA, the banquet will be followed by a program with guest speaker Dr. David Augsburger, YPCA singing groups and retrospective photo displays. Food will be available to purchase at various venues on campus throughout the evening. Purchase your meal at the door or on site; no advance sales for Saturday evening meals. The featured entertainment for Homecoming ’06 will include 15 musicians or groups performing in 3 different on-campus venues. Musical styles range widely, so there will be something for everyone and for all ages. Spend as much time as you like in one location, or visit the various sites to see more performers. A veritable extravaganza of musical talent. Light fare will be available to purchase at or near some of the Mennofolk venues, so that you can enjoy dining with friends or family while listening. Advance tickets can be ordered from the EMU online Box Office by calling (540) 432-4582 (but not on the Homecoming registration form). Tickets will also be available at the Welcome Center on Friday afternoon from the box office table, and on Friday evening and throughout the day Saturday from the Mennofolk table (also located at the Welcome Center ).
