"EMU’s faculty and staff provide a great inspiration and example to students. They take the time to form personal relationships with us. A lot of 1:1 time in the classroom helps too."

Small College:
Big Impact
Studying at EMU means becoming part of a small community with a big impact.
Professors as Mentors
A student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1 ensures you work closely with Ph.D. level professors (never graduate assistants). These professors care deeply about each student. They are available to help students develop a program of study that meets their needs and aspirations. They encourage students as they develop character and values that will ensure success in graduate school and the workplace.
Eighty-five percent of EMU grads who applied to med school in the past five years were accepted (compared to a national average of 39 percent), and during the past five years 95 percent of teachers (some years, more) were employed as soon as they graduated.
Similarly, a record number of nursing graduates pass their board exams on the first try. More about majors and minors.
Friendships for Life
College is about relationships, and EMU alumni say the friendships they formed in college last the rest of their life. Our campus community is small but diverse. There are many opportunities to meet people with similar interests; these include chapels, speakers, movies, dances, clubs and councils, student-led worship services, and much more.
Support of a Community
The EMU community is tight-knit and welcoming at the same time. Shared values like integrity, peacebuilding and service mean there is always someone ready to help out. Alumni live in the United States. as well as about 90 foreign countries, and with members all over the world, EMU grads can feel at home almost anywhere.
